Now to be clear I'm not the type of person to get super into mobile games, but Neko Atsume is great. It's an app that lets you furnish a virtual backyard and if you leave out little bows of food, virtual cats will come. It's a low maintenance game and plus tiny virtual kittens! Download from the App Store now for cats galore.

Have you ever wanted to buy cat-themed socks to complete your lazy Sunday morning ensemble? If you’re anything like me, you’ve looked extensively into such a product. Absolute Socks offers the perfect selection of cat socks; featuring Grumpy Cat, kitten hipsters, and even festive cat-themed patterns.
I’ve included some images of my favorites below (all images were taken from Absolute Socks’ website). Check out Absolute Socks to curb your cat sock cravings! As both a mug and cat addict, I was very excited to see Buzzfeed’s article “19 Perfect Mugs For All The Cat Lovers in Your Life.". I went through and picked out my favorite mugs, along with some others I found from various websites. I know what you're thinking, and no, I did not make this up! Available here from Amazon, They come with six wooden cats per pouch, and at least four different pouches are available. The object is to stack the cats as high as possible without them toppling, and I'm sure they'll create hours of entertainment.
Note: Photo from Amazon product description, not at all our own. I am still amazed that there are people out there who don’t know about the Paul & Joe cat lipsticks, formally called their “pony cat lipsticks.” These lipsticks look normal until you open them up and see the adorable cat faces and ears sketched into the makeup itself. I’ve always wanted one of these lipsticks (more for the sake of having it, as I feel I could never bring myself to use it and ruin the design), but they’re very difficult to find. These limited edition lipsticks pop up every now and again, but have mostly sold out (as they were released quite some time ago). You’re welcome, for finding one more cat-related thing you need to buy, but isn’t available anywhere. Join the struggle. But maybe if enough people want them, they’ll bring them back again, right? In the meantime try eBay maybe? And check here. Note: image not our own and we'd really rather you not sue us.
I’m always surprised by the public’s general ignorance and mistreatment of human/animal rights abuses. With Black Cat Appreciation Day having just passed, I thought I’d touch upon why there even needs to be a specific day to appreciate these dark-furred felines.
There are many challenges these cats face that are exclusive to only black cats. For instance, black cats are more likely to be put to sleep and less likely to be adopted from shelters. Why are black cats less likely to be adopted? Superstitions. The bad luck associated with black cats is the reason why these animals are unable to find homes right away. One of my own cats, Stewart (a “tuxedo” cat with white markings on black fur), is one of the most well-mannered and outgoing cats I’ve ever met (and I’ve owned/known a lot of cats). He is very vocal, loves to play, and loves to cuddle. My family and I were very surprised when we found him in the animal shelter years and years ago, and even more surprised that he had been there for such an extended period of time (more than 5 months!). Another obstacle black cats face is horrific torment and abuse, especially on and around Halloween. I’ve heard many horror stories of people who have had their black cats (or any cat in general, really) kidnapped and tortured/killed in terrible, unmentionable ways. It’s gotten so bad, that some shelters even refuse to adopt out black cats during the entire month of October, since they are targets for this abuse as well. And the list goes on and on. So what is the point of this rambling of information? Give black cats a chance, because they deserve your respect and they deserve to find a forever home just like any other four-legged furry friend. You've probably heard of Humans of New York, a project where photographs of everyday people are posted with captions containing quotes from their interviews. These quotes are sometimes humorous, insightful, even important.
Many spin offs have come out following the popularity boom of HoNY, the most recent being Felines of New York by Jim Tews. Available for pre-order now off Amazon, Felines of New York is a book of cats and captions that will be sure to make anyone smile. The book will actually be released on November 24, 2015, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Wildfox's new happy cat tee is a must have.
