D.C. Cherry Blossoms 2016 By Allison Pinski

Every year tourists flock to Washington D.C. for the city’s annual Cherry Blossoms Festival (March 20th - April 17th, 2016) and viewing. D.C. even has its own cherry blossom watch website dedicated to alerting tourists when the blossoms are in bloom and where they can find the prettiest trees. The website writes;

“Each spring, the cherry blossoms lining Washington DC’s Tidal Basin burst into color in a beautiful display of floral fireworks. But the peak bloom period lasts only a few days, and precisely when it happens varies each year. This site brings together information about visiting the cherry blossoms and Washington DC, peak bloom forecasts, and up-to-date photos to help you make the most of your own visit or follow along from afar.”

I was fortunate enough to visit D.C. mid-April to see the cherry blossoms (among other things). While the weekend I was in the city (April 8-10) was not ideal weather for viewing the blossoms, I was still able to see some trees, and they were beautiful.
