The Island of Misfit Toys released a video for their song Burble (off the album I Made You Something) on January 19th. It's a beautiful video to fit a beautiful song, and if you're not familiar with The Island of Misfit Toys definitely check them out for heart wrenching songs about living.  

My Discover Weekly playlist was incredible this week and inspired this. 

@Shannoneperry has been one of my favorite tattoo artists on Instagram for a while and when I found out she was in a band, I knew it was bound to be cool. Gazebos band is weird and fun and almost reminds me of Kathleen Hanna. Listen to Just Get High below, and get ready, because I'm nearly positive Gazebos unique sound will be well received.

January is the month of finally realizing there's a long winter ahead, so this playlist is a lot more trance-y and dance-y than usual, just go with it, the jamz will keep you warm. 

Awkwafina, known from MTV's Girl Code and her hilarious twitter, released a new song, Yellow Alert, on January 26th. This playful track is worth listening to, Awkwafina addresses Asian stereotypes aplenty while throwing in some hilarious one-liners 'how you never lucky with a tattoo of a koi fish.'

Loner Chic released Be A Burnout on January 14th, off their upcoming LP, Year of the Goth (out February 19th.) Stream it here from Modern Vinyl. Loner Chic is having a release show at Toad's Place in New Haven on February 19th, and Pinegroves, Milkshakes, and The Sleep Cozies will also be playing. It's a great song, off an album that will likely push Loner Chic into receiving the attention they deserve. I first saw Loner Chic when they played at TWIABP's release show for Harmlessness at Toad's. They're a band to keep your eye on for 2016, with much promise. Below in the gallery are photos from that show.

Porches released the music video for their new song Be Apart on January 6th, and it's beautiful. Watch below. Be Apart is off their new album, Pool, out February 5th.

Basement released their first ever music video, Aquasun, off their upcoming album Promise Everything. Promise Everything is out 1/29. Basement will be touring Europe in February and March and Australia in May, dates below. Also see Basements first single, Oversized, from early in December.
