Introducing NYC’s Awkwafina By Allison Pinski

Before you dismiss rapper Nora Lum, also known as Awkwafina, because she doesn’t fit the rapper stereotype, you should listen to her song “NYC Bitche$.” Originating from Queens in New York City, Awkwafina fills her raps with plenty of satire and comedy.

Her first EP, entitled “Yellow Ranger,” was released in early 2014, and all of her videos can be watched from her YouTube channel. Some songs to listen to right away are the infamous “NYC Bitche$,” “My Vag,” and “Queef.”

In addition to rapping, Lum also wrote and published a “real” walking tour book of NYC, which is available through her website and through select bookstores. AND, as though that isn’t enough, she also stars on MTV’s Girl Code season 3. Is there anything this girl can’t do?

Note: photos from Awkwafina's official Facebook page and definitely not our own.
