Colour Pop Haul By Allison Pinski

I have known of Colour Pop, a make-up brand based out of Los Angeles, for a while, but never had the opportunity to try any of their products. I finally decided to check out their website and order a few things after hearing the hype surrounding their Metallic Lipsticks (which are currently sold out). As an introduction to the brand, I ordered the six products shown below. ​

The first two items I had to try were the Lippie Stix ($5.00) and Lippie Pencil ($5.00) set in “Creature.” I was drawn to these products because they are part of Eugenie Grey’s (a.k.a. Feral Creature) collaboration with Colour Pop. I love dark lipsticks, and wanted to try “Creature” because it looked like the perfect dark red color. Eugenie describes the shade as “a sultry, fierce red for the world dominator.”

The pencil/lipstick combination are amazing. Both glide on very easily, and the liner helps keep the lipstick in place all day long. This set is easily my favorite purchase from my haul.

I’m always on the search for the perfect matte lipstick, and figured I would try the Ultra Matte Lip ($6.00) in “Kapow,” a muted grey taupe. I was attracted this shade because of its grey undertones, and I’ve been on the look-out for a balanced grey/brown lip color.

“Kapow” is everything I hoped it would be; it is easy to apply, matte, and long-lasting. I look forward to trying out more shades in this collection, namely “Chilly Chili,” “Lax,” “StingRAYE,” and “Tulle.”

Wanting to try more lip products, I heard a lot of praise for Colour Pop’s Ultra Satin Lipsticks ($6.00), and decided to test “Toolips.” I was attracted to “Toolips” because of its dark plum/brown color, but I also wanted to test how successful the formula for the Satin Lipsticks were.

Although I didn’t love “Toolips” as much as “Kapow,” it was still a great, long-lasting lipstick with strong pigmentation. I can see myself buying “Prim,” an even darker red, and “Marshmallow,” a dusty lavender, in the future. ​

Since I was buying a few lip products, I also decided to try Colour Pop’s Lippie Primer ($5.00). I wore it under all the different lipsticks I bought, and was impressed with how hydrated it kept my lips. It was lightweight, and it even help make some of the colors more long-lasting.

My one complaint about the primer is its size and its consistency. At first, it’s a little stiff when you apply it to your lips. I had to rub it over my lips a few times before I felt like I had enough to then apply my lip color. The tube was the same size as “Creature,” although I expected it to be a little larger.

Lastly, I decided to try one of Colour Pop’s eyeshadows. After searching through the seemingly endless list of colors (seriously, there are so many options), I landed on the Super Shock Eyeshadow ($5.00) in “La La,” a rose gold with a Metallic finish.

I love this eyeshadow because it has a strong pigmentation, and it is very easy to apply. It is also relatively cheap, at only $5. I will definitely be purchasing additional colors because of much I love “La La.” Some others I want to try are “3,” “Cricket,” “Game Face,” “Shameless,” “So Quiche,” and “Weenie.” ​

I was overall very satisfied with the products I bought, which I received less than a week after purchasing them. I wanted to try a few other products in addition to the ones I bought, but they were unfortunately out of stock. These items included the infamous Metallic Lipsticks in “Zebra,” and Colour Pop’s highlighter in “Hippo.”
