I was first drawn to The Balm Cosmetics http://www.thebalm.com/ for their vinatge-inspired packaging. Each palette, eyeshadow, concealer, and bronzer has a unique name and comic-style pin-up girl (or guy) to accompany it. From their Put a Lid on It eyeshadow primer, to their Powder to the People brush set, The Balm Cosmetics is one of the greatest brands I’ve ever found. I recently invested in their Bahama Mama bronzer (pictured below), which is perfect for contouring. I also love the colors in their NUDE’tude, Nude Dude, and Meet Matt(e) Nude palettes (all pictured below). The Balm Cosmetics also offers cleansers, scrubs, toners, serums, masks, and eye treatments for different skin types (normal, dry, oily), as well as shampoos, conditioners, and styling products for your hair. Personally, I have heard great things about their En Root Hair Shine Serum, which is made with green tea, bamboo, and rice. If you’re looking for new hair and makeup products, I highly suggest looking at The Balm Cosmetics’ website. They are more pricey than drugstore makeup (ranging from $15-45 depending on the product), but they are cruelty-free and have received a lot of positive reviews.
You can find The Balm Cosmetics products through Birchbox and Kohl’s. Select products are sometimes available at TJ Maxx and other discount stores, but it is unknown which stores may carry them. NOTE: None of the photos are our own, don't sue us over photos of makeup pls

This December, try some new makeup looks with the following trends! Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad believes that heavy eye shadow, especially in the color kajal (think evergreen), will be huge. Think big and smoky, like the following pictures (taken from Ferragni’s blog here) from the following designers. (Above: Kenzo) (Above: Dior) If you’re looking for something more subtle, check out the picture below from the Toga show (image from Cosmo) for a more 80s-inspired look. Marc Jacobs is another inspiration you can use for a full-face look. The A/W15 show featured very defined brows, grey lids, and darker stained lips. The below images were taken from here and here. Finally, as always, dark lips will be everywhere. Think dark berry colors, purples, blacks, greys, reds, and browns. You can look at a masterpost of our favorite dark lipsticks here. The below image was taken from Pinterest. *NOTE: None of the images in this post are our own and belong to their corresponding links.
